Overview

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology at Harriman opened in 1970. Classes were filled to capacity and waiting lists for enrollment were established on a first-come, first-served basis.  The first student graduated in 1971 with a certificate in drafting. Since 1970, over 15,000 students have enrolled in full- and part-time programs at Harriman. 

The mission of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology at Harriman is to provide high-quality, technical training to prepare individuals for lasting and rewarding employment, lifelong learning, and to upgrade skills of employed workers. The college serves the citizens of Rhea, Roane, Morgan, Loudon and Anderson counties.
