The mission of Nashville State Community College (NSCC) is to provide comprehensive educational programs and partnerships, exemplary services, an accessible, progressive learning environment, and responsible leadership to improve the quality of life for the community it serves. With an enrollment of over 10,000 students, the college serves a broad geographic area comprised of Davidson, Cheatham, Dickson, Houston, Humphreys, Montgomery, and Stewart Counties, and the Upper Cumberland region.
Nashville State offers two-year associate degrees that prepare graduates to enter the workforce or enable them to transfer to four-year colleges and universities. With over eighty programs, students can study today’s top fields and latest technologies. Nashville State also offers one-year technical certificates that are designed to equip students to enter the job market quickly. These career and technical programs emphasize basic technical knowledge that is reinforced through hands-on experience. Students are prepared for entry-level positions through classroom and laboratory learning.

The college has an open admissions policy and offers credit for work and life experiences through Prior Learning Assessment (PLA).
