This course introduces the student to essential basic information from the sciences of anatomy and physiology. The content is organized by body systems and complements theory and practice in basic fundamentals for all allied health courses (i.e nursing, surgical tech, medical assisting, medical office, coders, pharmacy tech, etc.). This scientific framework will assist the student in understanding the mechanisms by which the body attempts to maintain and/or restore equilibrium or balance; and will foster development of skills of observation necessary to assess, monitor, and report symptoms that result in malfunction in organs and/or body systems.
